Infrastructure Support Officer

This role holder provides technical support for IT infrastructure in the department, covering both “behind the scenes” functions necessary to maintain the Department’s IT infrastructure, and “end-user” support for more specialized functions that are not covered by the Computer Operators and Technicians.

The role holder has specific responsibility for the day to day running and support of electronic mail systems throughout the department – dealing with email system maintenance and user queries – the “postmaster” role. The role holder also supports other infrastructure facilities including: user administration and other database handling, security scanning and incident handling; and implementing software utilities to support departmental IT infrastructure as required and appropriate.
