Carol A. Armitage

Introduction

Carol is a Research Associate in the engineering department at Cambridge University. She is in the Energy Research Group. She is currently in the Combustion group and has also worked with members of the CFD lab and Acoustics group.

Research

Carol's background is in CFD, in particular turbulence modelling for buoyancy-affected flows. More recently she has worked on turbulent combustion CFD. At CUED she has investigated combustion oscillations in power generation gas turbine combustors using CFD. She has worked with Stewart Cant, Ann Dowling and Tom Hynes.

She has also worked on developing a metholdogy for liquid sheet break up using DNS with Simone Hochgreb and Stewart Cant.
